Day One ~ Arrival in Vancouver
Follow the maps and driving instructions included in your ‘On the Road’ travel kit, and follow the directions to the BC Ferries Terminal andtake the direct sailing to Dukes Point on Vancouver Island. Enroute, keep a lookout for the Orca Whales that frequent this area. The Highway to Tofino includes opportunities to view the stunning Old Growth Forest at Cathedral Grove and the Steam Railway and turn of the century lumber mill at Port Alberni. Your waterfront accommodation at Tofino is for two nights.
Day Two ~ Exploring Tofino and the Pacific Rim National Park
Walk the unspoilt beaches or take an interpretive tour. Whale watching trips in high speed Zodiacs leave on a regular basis as do trips to Hotsprings Cove. Overnight Tofino.
Day Three ~ Tofino to Victoria
Drive back to the east coast of Vancouver Island. Why not stop at Coombs for lunch? You can eat inside while the goats enjoy their meal on the roof of the restaurant. Follow the scenic Island Highway south through Chemainus and its world famous murals, over the Malahat Pass and its spectacular views, and onward to Victoria. Accommodation is booked for two nights.
Day Four ~ Highlights of Victoria
Call in to the local Info Centre and pick up the "Colours" brochure. Three separate sightseeing itineraries that follow three different coloured stripes down the local roads and byways. No better way to discover this beautiful city for yourself. Overnight Victoria.
Day Five ~ Victoria to Vancouver
Leave the city in the morning and discover the beauty of Butchart Gardens. Walk through this magnificent collection of floral and shrub gardens, with the blooms seemingly scheduled to make the most of your visit. Continue by BC Ferries through the Gulf Islands to Vancouver.
