RESERVATIONS/DEPOSITS:
Book early for best availability and prices. A deposit of $300
per person is required within 7 days of your booking date or
full prepayment
if within 30 days of departure. Tour space is confirmed upon receipt
of deposit. Payment must be in US or Canadian dollars except as otherwise
noted. The deposit or full payment
on a proposal acknowledges acceptance of the tour price and itinerary.
TOUR PRICING:
All tours are based on a per-person double-occupancy rate. Single,
triple, quad and children’s rates are available on request.
Package prices include reserved travel on BC Ferries per the itinerary, accommodation for each night of the itinerary and a full breakfast each day, detailed travel kit, all taxes and operational charges. For ‘The Islands and Tofino’ only - round trip ferry fares on the Lady Rose or Francis Barclay, Port Alberni–Bamfield or Port Alberni–Euclulet. Gulf Escapes preparation/planning costs are also included.

FORM OF PAYMENT:
Cashiers cheque, overnight bank transfer, personal cheque, PayPal.
CHANGES:
Depending upon availability, changes are permitted. A limited number
of changes are allowed before deposit. A $35 per person fee will
be assessed after deposit or full payment is received. Name changes
are considered a re-booking and may be subject to cancellation fees.
A re-documentation fee of $25 is assessed to reissue documents.
FINAL PAYMENT:
Due in our office 45 days prior to departure. Late arrival of final
payment delays document delivery and can result in released or cancelled
space that would be subject to cancellation fees.
LATE BOOKINGS:
Bookings made within 30 days of departure require full payment to be made by Cashiers cheque, overnight bank transfer, or PayPal. Space cannot be confirmed
until full payment is in our office. If space is no longer available
upon receipt of payment, all monies will be refunded.
DOCUMENTS:
Mailed by courier 2 weeks prior to tour departure. Early document
requests must be received in writing with final payment or 4 weeks
prior to the date needed. Documents include a detailed itinerary
with names, addresses and phone numbers of hotels or bed and breakfast’s,
tour vouchers, maps and detailed driving instructions, lists of
available attractions and local restaurant guides. Lost or destroyed
documents will be replaced for a charge of $25 per set. A $75 shipping
fee is added if outside the continental United States.
EXTRA COST PROVISION:
Unexpected fare or tax increases may occur causing higher rates
than published or quoted. These rates are absorbed when possible
but may be passed on to the traveler. Inclement weather or ferry
schedule changes or other conditions beyond tour contractor’s
control may incur delays or itinerary changes. This may require
an additional hotel night or alternate transportation with the added
cost solely the travelers’ responsibility, not Gulf Escapes
or the suppliers’. Lost services are non-refundable. TRAVEL
INSURANCE is recommended.
REFUNDS:
Refund requests must be received in writing within 30 days of completion
of trip, for services cancelled or altered by a specific supplier.
All requests must be made in writing. Refunds will not be made on
services that are cancelled or unused voluntarily by the traveler
or as a result of illness or injury. TRAVEL INSURANCE is recommended.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
Optional travel insurance can be booked directly from this web

wide range
of travel related cancellations and expenses. If you would
like a copy of this policy, we will be happy to mail it to
you in advance.
CANCELLATION CHARGES:
Unexpected circumstances may arise that prevents travel, therefore
the purchase of comprehensive TRAVEL INSURANCE is strongly recommended.
Please provide written notice by email or letter post of cancellation.
The following per person cancellation fees will be strictly enforced.
• Less than 61 days but more than
30 days before tour departure: $50 per person
• 30 - 16 days before tour departure: 25% of tour price
• 15 - 0 days before tour departure: up to 100% of tour price
GUEST RESPONSIBILITIES/PHYSICAL
LIMITATIONS:
Gulf Escapes must be notified at time of booking of any physical
or mental condition or any other characteristic that would require
special services for any person traveling on one of our itineraries.
Special dietary requirements will be of interest to your bed and
breakfast hosts.
ACCOMMODATION:
Bed and Breakfasts provide a unique and luxurious way to travel
independently and to meet local Gulf Island residents. The B&B’s
offered on these tours are carefully chosen for comfort, privacy
and location. They are located in private homes, cottages or small
inns with separate entrances and private bath. Wherever possible B&Bs are located on the waterfront or with ocean views. All are non-smoking.
Specific bedding arrangements can be requested but not guaranteed.
If special needs restrict the use of B-&-Bs (such as wheelchair
use), or if we are unable to provide a B-&-B in a specific location,
a tour price substituting hotel accommodations will be given.
MEALS:
Breakfast is included each day on all packages with the exception of the Wilderness Cruise Spying on the Grizzly Bear , where all meals are included from time of arrival on board until breakfast on the day of departure.
CAR RENTALS:
Thrifty Rent a Car provides cars that include Personal Damage Waiver (PDW) and unlimited mileage for travel within British Columbia and within adjacent provinces, either at Vancouver International Airport or at Vancouver downtown locations. The driver must carry a major credit card in his/her name, have a valid drivers license and be at least 21 years of age in order to obtain a rental vehicle. Drivers aged 21 to 24 are eligible for most models, and pay a surcharge of $15.00 per day. Depending on the rental location, the following charges may apply: a Vehicle Licensing Fee (VLF - $1.84 per day); and an Airport/Hotel Concession Fee or Premium Location Charge Recovery of 17.750% Governmental surcharges, provincial and federal taxes, tax reimbursement and optional items, such as refueling or additional driver fees may apply. There will be a charge of $5.00 per day for additional drivers. Any or all of the charges may be applicable, are payable at the Thrifty counter, are not included in these tours and may be different when picking up the car.
IMMIGRATION & CUSTOMS:
To enter Canada identification such as a passport, birth certificate
or naturalization papers must be carried as well as government issued
photo I.D. Non-US citizens must carry appropriate passport and visas.
Additional papers and Immigration documentation that may be required
are solely the responsibility of the traveler.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
All tours are handled under the business management of Gulf Escapes
Vacations located at Suite 105, 323 Lower Ganges
Road, Saltspring Island, BC V8K 2V4, who act solely as the agent
for Thrifty, BC Ferries and the accommodation providers, sightseeing
contractors and other principals or operators of the component services
offered and although we collect monies and arrange tours with said
vendors, no responsibility is assumed by Gulf Escapes for any personal
injury sustained while traveling to/from or on the Canadian Gulf
Islands or Southern Vancouver Island, nor for loss or damage to
any personal belongings howsoever caused. TRAVEL INSURANCE is recommended.
Gulf Escapes and/or the tour contractors reserve
the right to make any changes necessary to properly obtain a successfully
concluded tour.
ALL ARRANGEMENTS CONFIRMED ON OUR ITINERARIES ARE BOOKED
ON THE BASIS OF THESE CONDITIONS. ACCEPTANCE OF GULF ESCAPE DOCUMENTS
BY AGENT OR INDIVIDUAL IS CONSIDERED APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE CONDITIONS.
